Getting Started
Please refer to your welcome letter for further instructions. To replace this page, you will need to delete the index page found in your public_html directory. You can access this file from your control panel then clicking on the "File Manager." Change to the public_html folder and click on the index file. Options will now appear on the right hand side of your screen. Choose the "delete" option.

Now you can upload the rest of your site.

FTP Users:
if you are not using Microsoft Frontpage to publish your website, you are going to be using FTP to get your web pages from your local computer to the web server. Most HTML editors like Dreamweaver have a built in FTP client, however you can also use a standalone FTP program like WS_FTP or any other program of your choice.

1) Login to your FTP account using the details found in your welcome letter.
2) If your program has the option for "passive" mode, please select that option.
3) Change into the public_html folder.
4) Delete the index file in this directory. it may be named index.htm or index.html
5) Once deleted, close all browser windows, including this one, then open a fresh browser window and type your web address (http://yourdomain.com) into the address bar. you should now see a directory listing.
6) Upload a test page called index.html. This is the file you will use for your homepage.
7) Upload the rest of your site and have fun!

If you have any problems with these steps, please see the "troubleshooting" section below.

Microsoft Frontpage users:
Microsoft Frontpage users should not use FTP to publish their websites because Frontpage uses a special publishing technology that FTP can potentially damage.

1) Please login to your control panel and remove the index page by clicking on your "File Manager" icon. You will find this file in the public_html folder.
2) Once this file has been deleted, go back to your control panel's home page and click the option for "Frontpage Extensions." Click the "Install frontpage Extensions" option.
3) Publish your site to the web by clicking the "File" option in Frontpage. An option to "publish to web" (or similar, depending on version) will appear.
4) Type in your web address into the dialogue prompt that appears. example: http://example.com. Please do not use http://www.example.com or ftp.example.com. (example.com of course needs to be your REAL domain name. example.com is simply used here as an example.

Troubleshooting
If you are sure you have deleted the default index page, but still see this welcome page, you will need to clear your browsers cache.

Internet Explorer:
Select tools > Internet options > delete files. Reload the site and you should see your index page.

Firefox as of version 1.0.7:
Select tools > options > Privacy icon > cache tab > clear cache. Reload the site and you should see your index page.

Safari:
Select Safari from the top menu and choose Empty Cache from the drop down list. Reload the site and you should see your index page.

After you have cleared your cache, reload your site and you should see the directory listing. If this does not help, try rebooting your computer as a last resort. if that does not do the trick, you may be using an external cache and you will have to wait for your ISP or network administrators to clear this cache. This can take 24-48 hours in rare cases.

If you need further assistance, feel free to open a trouble ticket or post directly in our forums.
