Default mailbox transfers, mx info

I have a client that has a website hosted with another provider. They are looking for email services only. I want to know if I can create an account for their domain and provide mx records to their current host so that email only is processed on a glowhost account, but the DNS info points to their current web host. Is this possible? If so, how do I proceed? I know I would need to provide MX info to the current host. Thank you

You need to tell the other host to make MX records like so:

yourdomain.com in MX mail.yourdomain.com
mail in A 111.111.111.111

Where 111.111.111.111 is your server at GlowHost's mail server IP.

Of course you'd need to setup a cpanel account for this domain and create the mail addresses, etc.

PS there may be other steps involved on the other host in order to get it to actually send email to a remote server instead of delivering it locally, but as for the DNS part of things, that is what the other host needs to know. Then tell them that you plan on hosting the mail off site and they should be able to make the adjustments for you.
