Password protected page

I use GoLive 6.0 and created a password protected page. It works (the link and the dialog box asking for the password) when I run it on my local system but when I upload the site, nothing happens when I click on the link. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance...

any more clues.... you havent given us much to go on!

is it code you have written linked to a database of usernames and passwords? or are you just trying to set up access for one user to a specific folder or ?......

Thanks for the reply. Matt suggested I use the Password Protect Directories and that's what I ended up doing. It works great. It turns out my other method worked also, but the settings in my browser was preventing me from executing the Java script. Everything's good now.
