Downtime?

I'm about to finalize my order, but I wanted to get an answer on the downtime when switching over. Will my customers get a blank screen at any time?

I have another domain that is parked. When can I change that after opening the account for my website? Thank you...Lisa

You can do the switch without downtime. It works like this:

1. You order the web hosting.
2. You get the FTP information from us in your welcome letter.
3. You upload your site to the IP address.
4. You set up your email addresses in the control panel.

Once you have that done simply switch the DNS (nameserver information) on the domain and it will eventually route itself to our hosting platform, eliminating downtime.

As for the parked domain, you can do that whenever you like, there is an option in your control panel to park it on the existing site.

No, the nameserver information is changed by you at the site you purchased the domain from. Our control panels do not know about your domain name, until you point your domain to it at the registry.

Gotcha. I enrolled for my plan with GlowHost this morning. What's the turnaround time for the welcome letter with my login info? Thanks again...Lisa

As soon as the payment processors get back with us, and approve the order.

For shared accounts generally anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours based on workloads.

Reseller accounts take 24 hours to complete.
