Default Vern - Ram Upgrade for VPS servers

If your VPS is on the Vern server, your machine will be receiving a 4GB ram upgrade late Friday night or early Saturday morning. This requires the main hardware node to come offline while the ram is installed.

We have scheduled this outage so it affects the least number of site visitors possible. We anticipate the ram to be installed at:

2 AM EST Sat Dec 06, 2007

Estimated downtime is approx. 30 minutes.

Just a reminder, this is a green light for tonight's RAM upgrade. Only thing that would stop this from going in is some other high priority that is affecting multiple servers or something like that at the datacenter that needs attention before this unit.

Update:

Sorry for the extended down time.

There is a hardware problem with the motherboard. It would not accept the RAM, seems to be faulty.

We tried to replace the mobo, However, that idea did not work, the brand new mobo would not fit in the case.

Our DC techs are finding a case that accommodates the new Mobo.

After lots of bitching, they assure me that it is almost done.

I will update you as soon as we have a status change.

Nearly done here.

Linux sees 8 gigs of Ram but Virtuozzo is not yet. Give us a few more minutes to see why VZ is acting up.

Trials and tribulations are done. Your VPS's have 8 GIGS of ram now. Everything should be up and running. If you are still seeing problems, please open a support ticket.

We appreciate your patience.
