Why is that? I can understand the "a lot longer" part, but why more often? (And does it normally take more than 2.5 hours to get everything running again?)

There are threads in this forum that can give you historical downtime to resolution results. There is no way to tell if its going to be 2.5 minutes or 2.5 hours it really depends on the issue.
As to why it happens more frequently, the short answer is because it is still a shared server in many regards, and you are relying on your neighbors to be "good neighbors."

Well the good news is it wasnt any of your neighbors this time. The power supply on it went dead and they have a new one installed now and it is being racked up now.

The main hardware node is up and running now however Virtuozzo is running it's quota check utility to make sure the quotas are set properly on each VE. This is a result of the unclean shutdown which was a result of the power supply on vern dropping off.

Trust me... these little bits of downtime are NOTHING..
When I was with iPowerWeb, there were at least 4 times that my server was down for DAYS!! and nobody there even seemed to care.. Here at GlowHost these guys >>>jump<<< the instant there is a problem and go way out of their way to fix it quickly and correctly.. You should be thankful to be here..
