Default Northeastern US and Australia (others?) experiencing slow connections

We have had a few tickets from the Northeastern seaboard that are stating that they are having slow connections to the servers here including GlowHost.

All traceroutes into the datacenter look clean, however when we ran the traces back the the client they was 15-25% packet loss to those users that are coming in on Level3 Communications.

Level3 Comm is neither here, nor there, meaning it is not the datacenter, and it is not your ISP, they are a carrier in proxy between the DC and your ISP so there is little we can do about it right now.

We have notified our NOC and we will see if they can do anything about adjusting the routes around Level3 to increase performance.

This issue seems to be more widespread than originally anticipated. We have a few reports from those "down under" that are having slow or no connection to the servers. These guys are just waking up so it explains why we are starting to get reports from this hemisphere.

The latest response from our NOC is that they have tickets into Level3 communications but still are waiting on a response. If the delays continue it is likely they will pull the plug on Level3 service and route you guys in on other carriers, which may be slower than usual, but certainly better than what is going on now.

We will update you with any results.

L3 is aware of the issue and are working on it. In the meantime the datacenter is working on getting some alternative outbound routing in place.

Let us know if you see any problems today.

Looks all clear now, Matt. Thanks for the updates and explanation.
