Emergency Maintenance GNAX

We will be replacing a switch in the GNAX datacenter Wed. March 2nd in light of a recent discovery of a failing APC Switch which became apparent late this evening when several servers went unreachable for approx. 15 minutes or so.

In order to prevent unforseen outages we need to replace the existing hardware with a brand new unit.

Expected downtime is 20-30 minutes, beginning at 2 a.m. EST so most of you will not notice this off peak hours repair.

Servers affected by this are:

Betsy
Fran
Ginger
Haylee
Crista

If your server is not listed here, you will not be affected by this emergency maintenance.

I had the datacenter put the new switch in earlier than posted above.

We were hoping it would not blow again but it did. I asked them for a 2 a.m.install unless we encountered another issue during the day. I asked that if it went down again to just put the new switch in instead of placing band-aids on it until 2 a.m. this evening.

We had the new switch pre-configured and ready waiting for the 2 a.m. switch, however in light of the second outage we opted to just swap it out while the sites were down. Things seem to be back to normal the second outage was approx 15 minutes.
